An Update, A Favor to Ask and a Thank You

IMG_2390This post for salty caramel chocolate pecan bars has to be one of the most popular posts I have ever made.  Then I realized that back in 2011 I posted a very similar recipe you can never have too many variations on salty caramel and chocolate, or at least so I think.  The most recent one has a better look to it they both taste great.  Guess you’ll have to make both and do a taste test!  The original post for the most recent iteration was published without anyone instructional cooking pictures, also I made a minor change so if you were still think about these oat filled, caramel oozing chocolate and pecan topped bars check out the new update post.

Recently there has been a lot of activity, more people signing up to follow the blog, like it on Facebook and also on Twitter and Instagram.  If you are on Facebook and you haven’t already please like Urbanfoodguy.  I’m such a techno troglodyte that I was unaware that liking a post is not the same as liking the page so please like the page if you are on Facebook.  Thanks, I feel a little bit like Sally Fields for asking, but as I understand more and more about how this all works I understand that it is actually an important indicator to advertisers and the like as to the success and readership of the blog.  And please in addition alway feel free to like a post , even if you don’t you could lie and I would never know!

My Twitter account is hooked up to my Facebook back so it’s just the Twitter version of Facebook (so shorter basically).  As for Instagram I signed up a year ago and never really figured it out, but in my attempt at upping my game I’m going to try to wrap my head around it and use it more.

Finally: Thank You!  I can’t tell you how much I appreciate everyone’s support in this endeavor that started out as therapy and has turned into a writing job albeit not a very well-paying one, but it seems like my prospects of freelance writing look brighter than, well they ever have and I owe it all to you, your support and your encouragement (and I suppose also to your likes and follows – ah the modern world) so again thank yo so much. My love of travel has no limits really, I'm always ready to get on a plane. I was lucky enough to have a business for many years that allowed me to spend a lot of time in South East Asia. These days I've been spending time in Mexico, Germany, Canada and the West Coast of the U.S., but check back you never know where I might end up.
