In Berlin you can walk around with a bottle of beer or Cava or wine or well you get the picture anything drinking it freely without fear or anxiety of the police fining you (like here in NYC). On the weekends the subway runs 24 hours and so if you are coming home late at night you see…a lot of drunk and disorderly people. This gal above was actually on the train in the middle of the afternoon, I felt particularly worried for the dog.
The guy below had nearly polished off a bottle of cheap bubbles – a surprising popular beverage option in Berlin. Hopefully he is on the way to his dermatologist.
And this gentleman just has the good sense to go to sleep. Ah, Berlin, never a dull moment. I will say that for all the booze drinking I have seen in my years of visiting I have never seen anyone guzzling a bottle of scotch or vodka – it’s always beer or wine – they like to get a buzz not get ugly drunk. Which is especially appreciated if you happen to be riding the subway with them at 4 in the morning.
