I’d never seen this before and because it looks of root like I was suspicious when the vendor told me it was a “Yam” – just because it didn’t look like any Yam I’d ever seen – of course he was right. Now I want to make something with it. Originally cultivated in SE Asia there it is used in both sweet and savory preparations if you’re interested you can read more about it here.
