Now Forager

It’s great how films about food have become so popular (more on this in the coming weeks) this is one of the first ones that uses food in a non-documentary way.  Usually the movies are about the politics of food (Food Inc) or something to do with cooking (El Bulli) or sometimes a particular issue, like the meat industry or the grown of corn (Fast Food Nation, King Corn).  True Fast Food Nation was made into a sort of fictional film even though it felt to me very much like a documentary.

Anyway Now Forager is really a story of a relationship where the two people in the relationship are foragers who sell mushrooms and whatnot to the restaurants of NYC.

I like the idea, but from what I get from the trailer….well, I’m not sure.  Anyone seen it?  Going to see it?  Thoughts?

I love my neighborhood (the Lower East Side of Manhattan) and I love to travel. Because NYC is such a big place I tend to focus mostly on my 'hood and the ones that are close by: The East Village, Bowery, Chinatown and Williamsburg. My love of travel has no limits really, I'm always ready to get on a plane. I was lucky enough to have a business for many years that allowed me to spend a lot of time in South East Asia. These days I've been spending time in Mexico, Germany, Canada and the West Coast of the U.S., but check back you never know where I might end up.
