Late at night one of the last things I do before going to bed is to watch, what I like to call: Airplane porn. Basically, videos of people’s flights, usually in first or business class on any number of different airlines, usually ones that for, what ever reason, I have an interest in. Singapore Airlines is by many considered one of the very best in the world and I have watch many videos of people’s experience in their ultra lux First Class suites on board the double-decker Airbus 380. I am posting this video because it shows the service onboard like no other that I have watched. I didn’t know for example that dinner service was able to be had face to face with your travel companion in your suite as opposed to tray table style as you get on almost every other airline plane.
Of course the pre-flight service of Dom Perignon is very posh, but I guess flying a first class suite on Singapore Airlines you’d expect that. No expense is spared on the menu as you will see Malossol caviar in on offer as an appetizer to go with your pricey bubbly….it’s all very fancy.
What most surprised me was the bed turn down, certainly a far superior sleeping experience to maybe any first class in the sky, but when I saw the flight attended making up the bed in this video I couldn’t help but think for the life of me it looks kind of like a cot – a very expensive one and probably a very comfortable one, but a single cot like you sleep on in a tent, nonetheless.
Still I would love to have to opportunity to sleep in one – one day.
