Mast Brother’s New Store

Over a month ago I was in Williamsburg walking down North 3rd street and stumbled upon the huge new Mast Brothers chocolate store.   Somehow I must have missed the press release.  When I went in a chatted with the nice woman behind the counter told me it had happened only a few months before and that the old space (a few stores down) was now the office.

The best locally made bean to bar chocolate in NYC in my opinion and if you want cooking with chocolate they have several options for you to choose from, big bricks or pound bags of chocolate disks ( Sadly these don’t seem to be available online).  They also sell nibs, this place is a chocolate lovers paradise.  My favorite thing about it is how encouraging they are for you to sample everything.

So next time you are in Williamsburg go by and check out the new store and after you have stocked up on Chocolate go around to corner to Blue Bottle and have a coffee – my favorite combo.

Because NYC is such a big place I tend to focus mostly on my 'hood and the ones that are close by: The East Village, Bowery, Chinatown and Williamsburg. My love of travel has no limits really, I'm always ready to get on a plane. I was lucky enough to have a business for many years that allowed me to spend a lot of time in South East Asia. These days I've been spending time in Mexico, Germany, Canada and the West Coast of the U.S., but check back you never know where I might end up.
